An Equal Voice for All
The New Hampshire-based Coalition for Open Democracy was established to address one unavoidable fact: American government no longer works for the American people. Citizens of all stripes agree that Washington is incapable of addressing our nation’s most pressing problems because special interest money has infected our politics. On healthcare, education, taxes, poverty, environment, the deficit and more, ordinary people are paying the price for systemic corruption in Washington.
Founded by Doris “Granny D” Haddock, Open Democracy works to educate and inspire citizens in New Hampshire and beyond to “walk the talk” for democratic reform. Through our NH Rebellion (#NHR) campaign, launched by Harvard Law Professor Lawrence Lessig, we are committed to making the corruption of money in politics a leading bipartisan issue in NH’s first-in-the-nation presidential primary in 2016 through mass-participation walks, birddogging candidates, a speakers bureau, and more.
